Getting By With a Little Help From…the Hustle!

Hustle Helper

Do Tattoos Hurt?   Not ANYMORE they don’t!!

Into the Woods Tattoo has exciting news for the tattoo industry.  HELP IS HERE!

Studio owner and lead tattoo artist Frank La Natra has teamed up with Hustle Butter Deluxe to bring forth the future of clean and comfortable tattooing. Let us proudly announce the arrival of HUSTLE HELPER!

HUSTLE HELPER is a high quality anti-microbial soap imbued with the soothing comfort of 5% lidocaine and the delicate aroma of Hustle Butter. And like all Hustle Butter products, HUSTLE HELPER is cruelty-free and vegan certified.

Here at Into the Woods Tattoo, we have tried nearly every numbing cream and soap on the market, but all of them have left us wanting more.  Some brands had a horrible effect on skin texture, making the flesh rubbery, porous, and a pain to tattoo.  While other brands had a horrible effect on tattoo pigments, making black ink look blue. Even the suitable products simply weren’t strong enough or they only offered the weaker ANTI-BACTERIAL soap, rather than the full cleaning power of ANTI-MICROBIAL soap.

It was this desire for something better that drove Frank La Natra to contact Richie Bulldog and  they began their research into numbing soaps!  After months of research and testing the product on themselves and close friends, we knew right away that we had a winner.

Whether you’re a tattoo artist or a tattoo collector, HUSTLE HELPER will allow you to sit for longer sessions comfortably.  Nearly every client who had previously tried the competitors soap has confirmed HUSTLE HELPER is the superior comforting enhancing soap; But you don’t have to take my word for it.  Try it for yourself today.

Two of a Kind Event Made This Summer HOT!!!

What made this summer so hot???

Well, the Two of a Kind Tattoo Collaboration Event of course!!!

This July, Frank LaNatra took his Two of a Kind Event on the road and he brought the show up north to the charmingly quaint town of Northampton, MA.  It was in this sleepy little hamlet that iconic tattoo artist and shop owner Timmy B played host and opened the doors of his studio Niteowl Tattoo to one and all.  For the duration of the week, Northampton was the epicenter of this unique international tattoo event.

This time around we put a different spin on the Two of a Kind concept.  We scoured the globe and invited some of the tattoo industry’s brightest stars from around the world. The result was nothing short of game changing.  The artists were able to work side by side with one another and really absorb each other’s tips, tricks, and overall artistic process.  The clients came from all over the country to collect collaborative tattoos from artists who would likely never have met each other (let alone work together).

We truly believe that events like these help the tattoo industry to evolve and push the limits of what is possible!

Next time we will be bringing the event back down to sunny Florida, so keep an eye out for announcements later in the year.

Hope to see you there!

Let the Good Times Roll!

Two of a Kind 2015 is in the Works!

We are excited to announce that the Two of a Kind: Collaborative Tattoo Event is in the works.  This time around Into the Woods Tattoo has teamed up with NiteOwl Tattoo to bring the Two of a Kind Event up north to Massachusetts.

That’s right we’re packing up our tattoo machines and taking this show on the road!

Timmy B. and his assistant Heather flew down to Into the Woods Tattoo earlier this month to begin fleshing out the logistics for this summer’s event.  Since the previous event was such a hit, we decided to up the ante and extend invitations to some of the best European tattoo artists out there.  Frank LaNatra and Timmy B. have put together a lineup of tattoo artists (both domestic and international) that will be sure to impress tattoo collectors and artists alike.

The Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale came for a visit!

It was awesome to have Ms. V’s art appreciation class from the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale (A.I.F) come to our gallery for a walk through.  Since our studio boasts three graduates from A.I.F., we are proud to be able to give something back to the old alma mater!  We had a great time showing everyone around and explaining how the modern tattoo renaissance has been greatly influenced by the recent influx of classically trained artists to the tattoo world.

As you can imagine we are very proud of our gallery. However, it is not solely for the beautiful talent we display, but rather the purpose of showcasing tattoos as the true art form they are.  For decades tattoos have been viewed as a lesser art form intended for the fringe of society.  However, that stigma cannot be further from the truth.  Some of the world’s best contemporary artists work in the tattoo industry and we are proud anytime we are able to bridge the gap between the art community and the tattoo industry.  Thank you all so much for coming and spending an evening with us

New Gallery Show!  Out of My Mind: The Art of Jonathan Hunt

Saturday April 25th we opened our newest gallery exhibition, Out of My Mind: The Art of Jonathan Hunt. As a master of both traditional and digital arts, Jonathan is both a professor at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale and a talented freelance artist.  With a deft hand and a vivid imagination Jon is a prolific illustrator whose works can be seen on book jackets, storyboards, concept art, collectible card games, role playing manuals, music videos, and magazines.  His work also includes his own creepy creations of collectible pins called Eepz and Frombies (Friendly Zombies)

The show was a spectacular success with a packed house.   It was a good time, with great people, delicious food, tasty beverages, and incredible art!  The show will be up from now until the end of July 2015.  If you were unable to attend the opening feel free to stop in and check it out before the end of summer.

Out with the Old & In with the New…(logo)

3.5"x2" Business Card Template

Into the Woods Tattoo & Art Gallery is continually seeking new ways to grow and evolve within the tattoo community. And, what better way to demonstrate our commitment to change and positive growth than by giving the old Into the Woods logo a face lift?

We would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to tattoo artist Dave Koenig for designing our new and improved logo!  As long time fans of Mr. Koenig’s work, we felt that he was the perfect artist to capture the essence of “The Woods“.

We hope everyone can agree that our new logo not only reflects our artistic persona…but that it looks good on us too!

If you happen to be in the area, stop by, say Hi, and pick up a sticker with our new logo on it. This way you can let the world know that you’ve been “INTO THE WOODS”.

(And even have a sticker to prove it)!

If you are interested in collecting a piece from this talented tattoo artist, don’t forget that Dave Koenig will be joining the Into the Woods team full time later this year.

W for Woods

The New Year has already been EPIC!

Group shot of the Epic Guest Artists

The New Year began with everyone here having an awesome time at Miami’s hottest tattoo convention…Tattoolapalooza (Jan. 9-11) at the Hyatt Regency in Miami.  Awesome tattoos, live painting, and 2 days of Special FX Makeup contests featuring 4 artists from SyFy’s FACEOFF!

When the dust finally settled and the tattoo convention was over…we just kept the ball rolling with our Annual Epic Tattoo Guest Spot here at Into the Woods Tattoo Art Gallery!!   We had some of the world’s top tattoo artists from all over the country come and stay with us for a week of late night art and ink sessions!

This year we welcomed Timmy B., Tony Ciavarro, Nathan Evans, Phil Garcia, Robert Kane, Dave Koenig, Shaun Miller, Scotty Munster, Jake Parsons, Mike Schwab and Tanane Whitfield!   We were also visited by our friends and awesome tattoo artists Emily Schmitt, Ryan Nutini, Jordan Grakauskas, and Adam Natonio!  It was pretty much like having the X-Men of the tattoo industry under one roof for a week!

After the week of late night tattoos and and artistic shenanigans…everyone here was primed and ready to unveil our latest gallery exhibition “New Traditions: The Art of Dave Koenig”!  Our gallery is now bursting at the seams with the beautiful tattoo inspired art of Neo-Traditional artist Dave Koenig!  It was a blast and half!

Mr. Koenig’s art will be on exhibit until the end of April, so even if you missed the opening there is still time to come in and check out his beautiful art.  Hope to see you soon!
